In those days, medical experts and practitioners in the Indian subcontinent, had studied and documented thousands of botanical products that were being used for over 2,500 years. It was the first outpost of the traders who came to India with the intention of trading with other products (gold, silk, spices), but soon saw the possibilities offered as a commercial drug, thus starting a business to Persia, Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece and Rome.

Vedic physicians rather than study in laboratories, clinics made directly with patients. Several practitioners tested different types of drugs in different patients and results were very effective, all well documented. Of course, these tests were conducted by dozens of scientists over hundreds of years, which resulted in a documentation and comprehensive information. It allowed the luxury of not having behind them urging pharmaceutical companies to bring new products to market.
Among the oldest documents found which resulted, are the Caraka-Samhita (of approx. 500 BC), and Susruta Samhita (300 AD). These books represent the foundation of the Hindu natural healing system, Ayurveda. In these writings the Neem is mentioned in almost 100 pages, dealing with a wide range of diseases and symptoms, most of the suffering humanity. All I can think about is tobacco. I really don’t want to take a hit and if anyone offered me a smoke here and now, I’d not take it. I feel I’m in a pretty bad mood and have had trouble falling asleep but yet I recognize I will turn out to be tough. The electronic cigarette forum may also be helpful in the long run.

Of course this will make the traditional printing companies and governments in the third world into a panic because of their unpreparedness of information technology. . .
